Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, encourages families to save for their children’s future college costs while the children are still young. By planning ahead for higher education expenses, families can take full advantage of long-term savings, tax benefits, and the power of compound earnings with a 529 plan. The sooner you start saving, the longer you have to reach your college-savings goals.
To promote these tenets, Ohio’s 529 Plan teams up with various partners throughout Ohio to to raise awareness of the importance of planning for education beyond high school. One of the ways we do this with some partners is to offer college savings awards for families to jumpstart their 529 plan or boost a current account.* Three of these sweepstakes recently came to a close.
First, Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, partnered with the Cleveland Browns and University Hospitals to offer the Browns Baby Backers.
The grand-prize winner received $500 college savings award and a personalized youth Browns football jersey for their Baby Backer.
The randomly selected winner is Alayla Bond of Cleveland, OH.
Second, CollegeAdvantage joined with Huddle to provide homework folders to elementary schools across Ohio. As part of this partnership, Ohio’s 529 Plan offered a $529 college savings award.
The randomly selected winner is Terri Brewer of Miamisburg, OH.
Third, Ohio’s 529 Plan collaborated with the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association to support their Baby Bearcats program. To assist the alumni with their children’s future college costs, CollegeAdvantage gave away a $529 college savings award.
The randomly selected winner is Henry Miller of Grove City, OH.
Winners who already have CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Plan accounts will use the awards to add to their ongoing savings. For those winners who are not current account owners, they will open accounts and use their awards to get a jumpstart on their college savings!
Thank you to everyone who participated. Congratulations to all our winners!
