When they stepped to the plate in 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings were baseball’s first professional team. When the Cincinnati Reds step up to the plate on Thursday, March 28, it will be the start to their 150th season!
The City of Cincinnati and the Reds are hosting many celebrations for the oldest professional sports organization in the United States, including Cincinnati’s annual holiday, Opening Day. The fourth annual Kids Opening Day is also set for Saturday, March 30, and Ohio’s 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage, will join the festivities! Due to the weather, this fun event will be held in the concourse of the Great American Ball Park.
