Dayton Dragons Ohio 529 MVP winners

Dayton Dragons and Ohio’s 529 Plan Announces MVP Program Winners

The Dayton Dragons and Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, teamed up for the Dragons MVP Program to reward area fourth- and fifth-grade students for their classroom success.

Through the Dayton Dragons MVP Program, fourth- and fifth-grade teachers throughout the Miami Valley (Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren counties) receive award kits to recognize five students in their classroom. Each of the five students selected as a Dayton Dragons MVP in their classroom receive four lawn tickets to a special MVP night at Fifth Third Field, an MVP certificate, tickets to an MVP Field Day at the ballpark, and a uniquely designed MVP hat. In addition to these items, MVP winners have the opportunity to share their success story included in the Dragons game day program, throw out a first pitch, have an on-air radio interview, and participate in entertainment skits during a Dragons game.

As part of the program, five winners were selected to receive a $529 CollegeAdvantage 529 Direct Plan College Savings Award from each of the following counties: Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren.

The winners are:

Clark County – Rebekah O’Brien

Greene County – Eric Mrenak

Miami County – Megan Goins

Montgomery County – Christina Comer

Warren County – Renee Bennet

The winners and their families were celebrated at an on-field awards ceremony on 529 Day, at the Dayton Dragons home game on May 29.
