Ohio’s 529 Plan Office Closed For Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

The office of Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Our Customer Service department (1-800-AFFORD-IT) will also be closed on this day. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. Any transaction requested on a holiday, weekend, or after the NYSE closes will be processed on the next business day.

The State of Ohio will host its 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. Commemorative Celebration at noon, Thursday, Jan. 16, at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Third Avenue and Broad Street in downtown Columbus. During this celebration, several organizations and individuals will be honored for their effort to promote peaceful social change. Additionally, attendees will hear the essays of 2019 first-place winners of the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statewide Oratorical Contest.

The King Arts Complex in Columbus will celebrate Dr. King’s legacy with open house beginning at noon, Monday, Jan. 20. The event will include art activities, musical and theatrical performances, and the opportunity to learn more about the Civil Right Movement. Ohio History Center will honor Dr. King on Jan. 20 with discussions on civil rights in Ohio during the time of Dr. King, Ohio’s first African-American fighting unit, and the Tuskegee Airmen.
