The Dayton Dragons and Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, have teamed up for the Dragons MVP Program to reward area fourth- and fifth-grade students for their classroom success.
Fourth- and fifth-grade teachers throughout the Miami Valley (Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren counties) will receive Dragons MVP award kits to recognize five students whom they have selected from their classroom. Even though Ohio’s school building are closed for the 2019-2020 school year, the Dragons MVP Program will continue into the summer!
Students selected as a Dayton Dragons MVP will receive four lawn tickets to a special MVP night at Day Air Ballpark, an MVP certificate, participate in a pre-game parade, enjoy access to the new MVP Zone and receive a MVP hat.
In addition to these items, some MVP winners will have the opportunity to share their success story in the Dragons game day program, throw out a first pitch, deliver the game ball, participate in the umpire plate meeting, or perform as the Junior PA during the game. Dragons MVPs will be selected at random for these additional experiences by Dragons staff. If your Dragons MVP is chosen, a representative from the Dragons will contact you directly to let you know.
Five winners will be selected from these Dragon MVPs to receive a $529 CollegeAdvantage 529 Direct Plan College Savings Award from each of the following counties: Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren.
The college savings winners and their families will celebrate at an on-field awards ceremony at a Dayton Dragons home game in August.
