2024 Dayton Dragon Student MVP winners receive their oversized checks on the field

The Dayton Dragons and Ohio’s 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, teamed up for the MVP Program for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Dragons MVP Program is an educational program for teachers to help motivate and reward fourth- and fifth-grade students for success in the classroom. The MVP program is for public, private, and parochial schools throughout the Miami Valley, including Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren counties. Over 1,200 teachers took advantage of the program.

Ohio’s 529 Plan is committed to helping families prepare for the cost of their children’s education after high school so six student winners and six teachers each won a $529 college savings award to add to or start their Ohio 529 Direct Plan account. There was a student winner and a teacher winner randomly selected from each of the following counties —Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren—as well as area private schools.

The MVP student winners enjoyed the June 8 game for the check presentation with Trisha Good, the executive director of Ohio’s 529 Plan. The parents of the student winners were:

  • Clark County: Peyton Davis
  • Miami County: Lindsay Scrozzari
  • Montgomery County: Tennille Keeton
  • Warren County: Kayla Francis
  • Private School: Michelle Baldwin

The MVP teacher winners enjoyed the July 13 game for the check presentation. The teacher winners were:

  • Clark County: Julie Sebastian
  • Greene County: Angela Couch
  • Miami County: Tiffany Williams
  • Montgomery County: Alisa Jackson
  • Warren County: Jennifer Bowman

Congratulations to all the MVP winners! And best wishes to the Dayton Dragons for the 2024 season and postseason!
