GIVE THE GIFT
OF COLLEGE

GIFT CONTRIBUTIONS

It’s easy to give the gift of education. Whether you’re the Account Owner asking for gifts for your children, or the Gift-Giver giving a gift to a college-bound child, the steps are straightforward. We want it to be easy for everyone, like grandparents, aunts, uncles, other family members, and even friends, to give a gift to a CollegeAdvantage Direct Plan account.

Are you the Account Owner?

Many of our Account Owners have family and friends (non-account owners) who have expressed a desire to contribute to their loved ones’ CollegeAdvantage accounts. With information that you provide to them, anyone can make a contribution by: 1) sending handwritten checks in the mail or 2) setting up a contribution with their banks’ bill pay services. With either method, one-time and recurring contributions, or “payments,” can be made. Simply provide your family member or friend with the following information to ensure that their contributions to your beneficiaries’ accounts are processed successfully:

  1. Your CollegeAdvantage Direct Plan 11-digit account number
  2. The payee name: Ohio Tuition Trust Authority
  3. The mailing address where the payment will be sent:
CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Savings Plan
P.O. Box 219305
Kansas City, MO 64121-9305

Once the gift contribution is received for your CollegeAdvantage account, it will be automatically allocated to your existing beneficiaries and investment options according to the "Contribution Allocations" instructions on file with your account. To verify or change your account allocation instructions, log in to your Direct Plan account and go to "Allocation Management, Contribution Allocations."

Account Owners can also use Ugift!

Ugift® makes it easy for you, the Account Owner, to share information with your family and friends about your beneficiaries’ celebrations, achievements, holidays, or special occasions that others may wish to recognize with a gift contribution. It’s an easy and polite way to suggest gift contributions for college. Read more on how to use Ugift.

Are you the Gift-Giver?

If you're wanting to give a contribution on behalf of a loved one who is the beneficiary of a CollegeAdvantage Direct Plan account, there are a couple of easy ways to do this. With either way, you will need the same three pieces of information from the Account Owner:

  1. The CollegeAdvantage Direct Plan 11-digit account number for the beneficiary to whom you are giving.
  2. The payee name: Ohio Tuition Trust Authority
  3. The mailing address where the contribution will be received and processed:
CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Savings Plan
P.O. Box 219305
Kansas City, MO 64121-9305

Choose how you want to give:

  1. Mail a handwritten check: Write your check, and mail it to the address given above. (Make your check payable to Ohio Tuition Trust Authority and be sure to include the entire 11-digit CollegeAdvantage Direct Plan account number on the memo line of your check.)
  2. Set up a contribution using your bank’s bill pay service: Most banks offer an online bill pay service to their customers. Anyone can use their online bill pay service to "pay" a contribution to a CollegeAdvantage account. One-time and recurring payments can be made.

Present your gift with a printed announcement!

Choose the gift announcement below that matches the occasion you're celebrating. Then print, sign and present your gift to that special child in your life. (Certificates print in color, and fit folded as a letter in a standard business envelope.)
