Ohio 529 is pleased to join Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) to support their Summer Reading Challenge, to help students, their families, and their teachers fend off “summer slide” and keep reading skills strong over the break. The challenge starts on May 31. Ohio 529 will provide five $529 college savings awards to program participants.
Dayton Metro Library (DML) will host their Summer Reading Challenge, Color Our World, starting May 31. To kick off the summer reading program, DML will host Library Card Day at the Dayton Art Institute (DAI) from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31. Just show your library card and your visit to DAI will be free! By participating in the challenge, you will be entered to win the grand prize of a $2,529 college savings award from Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage.
Ohio 529 is proud to support Akron-Summit County Public Library for its 100 Years Of Summer Reading. Beginning on June 9, the program is open to readers of any age. There are many great prizes for participating, including four $529 college savings awards from Ohio 529. The library will celebrate 100 Years Of Summer Reading Grand Finals at the Akron Art Museum from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Along with Toledo Lucas County Public Library, Ohio 529 supports the Toledo Mud Hens Home Run Readers. Children under 12 can sign up for Home Run Readers at their local branch of the Toledo Lucas Public Library. After reading five books, participants will receive two tickets to a Mud Hens game. Additionally, their parents will be entered into the drawing of a grand prize of a $2,500 college savings award from Ohio 529.
Ohio 529 also sponsors the Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) Baby Club, available at many branches during the spring and fall. The baby club is a five-week program for children up to 2 years old and their caregivers. You will learn ways to grow your baby’s brain through playing and reading together.
