It’s that great time of the year! Come and enjoy all the fun at the Ohio State Fair, which runs from Wednesday, July 29 through Sunday, Aug. 9. There’s so much to do at the state fair, from concerts, to food, to rides, to shopping, and of course, seeing the butter cow!
Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage loves the state fair, too! We’re in the Lausche Youth Exploration Space, with other Ohio Department of Higher Education agencies. Take advantage of the air-conditioned comfort of the Lausche building to stop by our table to have your kids spin our prize wheel while you learn more about the smartest way to save for your child’s future college and career training. We’ll be there every day at the fair.
While in the Lausche building, be sure to explore the exhibits like America 250 – Ohio, COSI and the Innovation Zone, Deep Fried Math with the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, Scouting America, 4-H judging, OSU’s Phun with Physics Show, Family Fun Area, Tiny Town, and many more fun activities. Additionally, many great state universities will have fun and educational projects for you to work on as a family. (There may even be a mascot or two onsite when you visit!) Our partner agencies for the fair, Ohio Department of Higher Education and Ohio Department of Education & Workforce are sharing the wonders of science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) and see what career opportunities are available in these fields.
Ohio 529 is also part of the Governor’s Children’s Passport, which is a fun way to visit the state fair and win prizes. Visit all the stations around the state fair to have your passport stamped.
