The Toledo Mud Hens and Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage, teamed up this summer to help Northwest Ohio families hit a home run for their education goals with Home Run Readers. This sweepstakes runs in conjunction with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library summer reading program, encouraging families to read together and prevent summer slide.
One lucky Mud Hens and Toledo Lucas County Public Library fan received the grand prize of a $2,500 college savings award for their CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 account. The winner, Melissa Bentrup, placed the savings award in her child’s Ohio 529 account.
Bentrup attended the Sept. 5 game against the Indianapolis Indians. She was joined by her family—Kevin, Lori, Neal and Olivia Bentrup—and Dave Kemp, Ohio 529’s Interim Executive Director, for the on-field check presentation. The family then watched the game from a Mud Hens suite. The second-place winner Drew Saltzstein and his wife Jenny, and their son, Noah, also joined them in the suite for the game.
Congratulations to all our winners! Thank you to everyone who participated!
