Office Of Ohio 529 Closed For Fourth Of July

The office of Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Our Customer Service Department will also be closed for the holiday. Our Customer Service representatives are available to assist you at 1-800-AFFORD-IT (233-6734) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Monday -Friday before or after the holiday. 

While our office may be closed, you can always open an account online over the holiday to start saving for education after high school. 

If you are already an Ohio 529 account owner, you can use the READYSAVE 529 app to access your account information, track account growth, and make both one-time and recurring contributions from the bank account on file while our office is closed. You can download the READYSAVE 529 app now from the Apple and Google Play app stores. Once you install the app, select Ohio’s 529 Plan from the list and log in with the same username and password you use to access your account online.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will also be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Additionally, the NYSE will close at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3, in advance of the holiday. Any transaction requested on a holiday, weekend, or after the NYSE closes will be processed on the next business day.

Your Ohio 529 account can also pay for K-12 tuition at a public, private, or religious school. And, if it’s not needed for educational expenses, you can now roll over your 529 to a Roth IRA.
  5. Others can help.
    It’s easy for family and friends to contribute to your child’s account and receive tax benefits for themselves. You can share your account’s unique Ugift number with others to contribute online without creating their own 529 accounts. Those who live in Ohio will also receive a state income tax deduction for their contributions.
