E. Ann Gabriel, CPA (Inactive), PhD
Ann Gabriel (Ann) is a retired professor of accounting at Ohio University’s College of Business, where she taught from 2001 to 2018 and was awarded emeriti status. Prior to Ohio University, Ann was an Assistant Professor of Accountancy at the University of Notre Dame (1993-2001). She started her accounting her career as a practicing CPA with the firm of Coopers & Lybrand (1971-1984) and served as controller of ChemLawn Corporation (1984-1989). She earned a PhD in Accounting and MIS from The Ohio State University in 1993.
Ann currently serves on the boards of the Upper Arlington Community Foundation, the Ohio University Foundation, and the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company. Ann also served on the State Audit Committee following a recommendation from The Ohio Society of CPAs. The State Audit Committee is a five-member committee that helps the governor and director of the Office of Budget Management in the areas of financial reporting, internal controls and risk assessment, audit processes and compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
